Undeserved Misfortunate

Undeserved Misfortunate is the moment the audience begins to really care for the main character in a movie. This is when something happens to the main character and they didn’t deserve that to happen. Many movies have this for the audience can began to feel sorry for the main character. In the movie, Legally Blonde we see undeserved misfortune. The main character Elle Woods, has a perfect life and has the perfect boyfriend, however the boyfriend is going to Harvard Law and thinks, Elle, is to blonde. Although they were not having problems, Elle gets dumped because she is to blonde for her boyfriend! This is undeserved misfortunate, Elle should have not gotten dumped for that and this is when we start to care for Elle.  We see Elle crying over her breakup with the guy that she thought was going to marry. Elle wants to prove to herself and everyone that she is not to blonde, for anyone. We start to see Elle’s character and how that her being dumped was the undeserved misfortunate. Throughout the movie we want Elle to do good because in the beginning of the movie she was dumped for no good reason. Elle won over our heart because she is now trying to prove that she is good enough to make it anywhere and there is nothing wrong to being BLONDE because that does not determine your character.

Conflict

Conflict is the reason why we sit through hours of long movies just to see what will happen, and how it gets resolved. EVERY move has conflict, and there is even conflict in real life. In the movie Freaky Friday, the conflict is that the Mom, (Tess) and daughter Ana, switch souls and are know in each other’s body. They were each given a fortune cookie, because of how much they argue, to switch bodies and learn to be in each other’s shoes. The plot twist is that the mother is getting married that same weekend, to her boyfriend, while Ana has a big performance. Ana and her mother have had many problems and arguing over Tess's boyfriend and Ana's rock band. The soul purpose of the movie is to show that they both need each other in their lives, and it’s hard to be in each other’s shows. The movie has a good conflict and keeps the audience interested to see what will happen. Will Tess marry her boyfriend even though its Ana's soul in her body? Will Ana and her rock band do well on their live performance? The movie is a comedy movie that is good to watch with children. It is interesting to see how they will try to return to their appropriate body. Like every other good movie, this movie has many kittle conflicts in every scene. For example, Ana is always fighting with her little brother, Harry. The mom is fighting with the lady who gave them the fortune cookie. There is different conflict throughout the movie, making it a great film.

My Film Job

When creating a film, I think I would be a good Director. I say this because, I feel like I can be creative and know what shots will have a better effect. I feel like if I was a director I would be able to hear all of the other members’ ideas and try to incorporate their ideas and what they want to see in the film. Being a director requires a lot of responsibility, and I fell like I am responsible enough to have this power and have the ambition to want a good film. I would be able to put allot and time and effort in seeing what shots I want in the film and how to really tell the screenwriter vision. Not only that, I am not a shy person, and I wouldn’t be scared to tell the actors what the team expects from them and our vision for the film. I can see myself behind the camera, and trying to help everyone with their jobs and stay on task to make a create film. 

My Review on the Elephant Man

My review on “the elephant man” is that it is surprisingly very well thought of. This movie is great in that even though it came out in 1980, and is in black and white, it helps the watcher relate to John Merrick, the main character. The movie is based on the writings of Dr. Treves and to know that this movie it is a based on a true story is incredible. I like how David Lynch, the director, added different scenes to really tell John Merrick story and how John Merrick in reality is just a good guy. The movie really reaches out to the audience in showing to not judge a person based on looks. I am also very pleased with how the actors act. What I mean is that the actors are not forcing their emotions, and we can see that there is an actual connection besides just reading the lines. The movie helps us as audiences see that there is good and bad people, and teach us life lessons that we can learn from others. Only thing I really did not like about the movie is the mystery of his father and mother, yet we know the mother is r…well lets not spoil the movie. The movie has very different meanings that the director incorporates. I really enjoyed this movie and the way John Merrick looks and acts with the different characters seen through out the movie. The make up and costumes fit well with this theme.  Out 5 stars I give it a 4, although I really enjoyed it the missing information about his condition and his parents seems to lack in my opinion. However, I do recommend people to see this heart filled movie!

My Name is John Merrick

It’s been a loooong day. Strangely, I think it was a good day. Today Ms. Kendall visited me. Yes, Ms. Kendall, the famous actress took interest in ME. I was so happy, I never rally had someone take interest in me and care about me, until Dr. Treves. I was in my room when she came to visit me.  And let me include that my cathedral is coming a long pretty well. My detail and hard work is portrayed and it does not even look like cardboard. Well okay back to my story, who might say Ms. Kendall would come and visit me, John Merrick. Might I include that this is history my friend. Ms. Kendall is the sweetest lady, not only did she come visit me, but we even got to read and say the lines from Romeo and Juliet. I’m a HUGE fan of the theater and I felt honored that she rehearsed lines with me. To top it off she kissed me on the check! Ms. Kendall wanted to be my friend, and I like her as my friend. She understands my passion for theatre and just does not see me as a” different" person but as man, a man that I am! This was the highlight of my day, might I include of my life! Besides my regular meetings with Dr. Treves, I just spent my afternoon looking through the window, watching the day go by, a beautiful day! (:

Welcome to my nightmare ...MUAHAHAMUHAH

            When I fall asleep, I really do not remember my dreams. However, when I think about nightmares and fears, I begin to wonder why is that people are scared of things? What are there fears? I believe that everyone is scared of something. It can be the smallest thing or the biggest thing, or maybe just the thought of something.  For example, some people are scared of death, others of birds, and some of public speaking! The fears out there are crazy and it is remarkable to know that everyone in this world is fearful of something.  I think you can overcome a fear it just takes time and people to actually understand or have an experience that will help them overcome things. When I think about my fears, it is hard for me to know what it is I am fearful of. I am not saying that I am not scared of something; I just do not have one that is my biggest fear. However, if I had to choose what it is I am fearful of is sprits and the idea of ghosts and death.  Although many people do not believe in spirits or ghosts, I say that I am scared of this because just the idea of being taken over by a “bad spirit” scares me. I also come to wonder what will happen to my body and me. What if I get possessed? The idea that I won’t be the same person anymore, or something can attack me as I am sleeping. They can be lurking at me as I walk or the idea that they know my every move. Although I do not remember my dreams, if my dream would consist of me being taken over, or possessed would be a NIGHTMARE! 

Compassionate Science

To become a scientist, takes a lot of school and learning about math and science, however to be a compassionate scientist is different. Compassion is a great trait to have because that’s how people are driven and motivated to do things. That’s the ability to be able to help people and be able to have compassion for others and be motivated to help them.  Being a compassionate scientist is great. These people can help those in need with their knowledge about science. For example, Mike Ebeling. He is considered a compassionate scientist because he went to Africa and shared his knowledge in building a hand for a young boy, Daniel, who didn’t have one. Mr. Ebeling had the compassion and the drive to help those in need, and those who don’t have the same knowledge him, to teach them how to create a hand. He took it upon himself to not only go and make sure the hand is working, but teach the scientist over there how to use the machine, and make one of their own. As a person I can see myself as a compassionate scientist, because I would like to help people, and if I know how to help why not. People are as lucky as us, and as a person I feel that it is great to show others and help others, because in reality we all depend on each other and can get help and help others. 

The Future!

In about 50-100 years I feel like the world will be completely different. America will no longer be America but something completely different. In the world not only would our technology be better but also our society. Although now we are a democratic society, in later years I feel like the government is going to change. We are going to see the real corruption of the government and overthrow them and make sure it is more democratic.  Also in the future we are all not going to have jobs. The jobs we have now will all soon be taken away be a robot, and if we are not careful they would take over the world. These robots are already showing up, as we go to the supermarket we can checkout our own groceries and there is no need for cashiers.  As human beings we will have robots that do everything. Our gadgets will all be holographic and water proof and fire proof, like those old nokia phones.   To transport place we will just need to stand on top a plate and say were we want to go and it would automatically take us there. No need to pay for transportation and airfare.  The future is going to look different. We would all be living in blockhouses and what we now as nature will soon disappear. The future is closer than we think and I think it will all change for either the better or the worse.                                                                                                                                     

One time I laughed REALLY REALLY hard

One time I laughed really really hard, was when I was at volleyball game with the cheer squad at my school. During the breaks different girls would get up and stunt and show off different tricks in the air.  Four girls decided to go up and do a stunt. The stunt is called a basket toss. The person who gets thrown up in the air (flyer) is thrown up and does a trick and than the three girls all catch her as she is coming down. Okay, so the 4 girls are setting up to the right formation to throw the girl up in the air. the girls throw the flyer in the air and as she was coming down, one of the girls was to inside the square that when the girl was falling she literally fell on top of her and dropped her to the floor.  Thank god no one got hurt! But as we saw the two girls get up from the floor everyone was laughing. The crowd was laughing, because it was so funny how this flyer, and let me tell you this girl doesn’t even way 100 pounds, dropped a girl and made her fell straight on her but. That was the only funny thing though; we had also got this incident on VIDEO! So as the girls went back to sit on the bleachers, the squad was replaying the video and seeing the girl fall over and over again. It was so funny and also embarrassing for the girls, but even till this day I have the video and still makes laugh hard. 

What did you think of modern times?

The film, Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin is a very good film. I have only watched I once and as I saw the film I thought it was very intresting and well thought of. The film has two main characters and instead if them being depressed about what is happening during the Great Depression, they have a good time and never give up, even if it's looking for a job or finding a home. Charlie Chaplin suprised me on how he thought of a great film that had romance comedy, and some sad scenes. The movie was a silent film,but surprisingly it was not that silent. What I mean by that is during the whole movie there was someone laughing or giggling because the movie is funny. The different scenes Chaplin created were different. Chaplin used different scenes to depict the different life style. The movie is called modern times but in reality the movie is just about the time in the 30's, except for the first scene which has some sci-fu feel. The film was very fun to watch and intresting in how even though the holm production was getting better, Chaplin decided to do everything for his film, keep it silent and black and white. A movie so old doesn't really get a lot of attention, but this movie is very intresting and it gives you a feel on how some people portrayed the history or what they did at the time of the depression. If you are into laughing, like old silent films, than Modern Times is a GREAT film! 

My thoughts on bullying.

My thought on bullying is that it is wrong. Most people can agree that bullying is wrong, but we still don’t have the answer to why is it still happening. In bell high school, I don’t really see physical bullying, but we do see a lot of name calling and teasing. Some students at bell or whoever sometimes do it for fun or to their friends, while other honestly mean what they say.  In my opinion in order for a school to prevent bullying, they need to be more open and see what actually happens outside of classrooms. Bullying is not 100% preventable, but there are more ways of preventing than just putting up posters. The faculty can bring in the students that are bullied or bullying as a talk to why it is they bully, or for those, what it feels like to bully. Knowing that there is several of way to bully someone, when someone is being bullied online, there should be more control over that. I know that people have freedom of speech and can write on the Internet whatever they want; however what they say can actually be hurtful. In my opinion in order to understand bullying everyone needs to be in that situation. As a person they need to feel how it is to get bullied and bully, for people can open their eyes and see that it is not right. No one is the same in this world, and that is the good thing that everyone is diverse. Opinions remarks and physical content should be avoided all the time if they are harassing other people. 

What is your favorite film?

The movie that I like is Pitch Perfect. The movie is a mixture of comedy and romance that makes the movie very interesting. This is my favorite modern movie, and I say modern because there are many classics however as of now I enjoy watching this movie. The movie catches my attention because its a group of girls that sing. I like movies that have singing, because I can not sing well and the different word choice and actors they choose fit the role for each character. The movie has different modern songs throughout the film that bring up the mood and make the movie more interesting. The movie shows different personalities and how life changes in a good or bad way, when there is a new journey. The film talks about friendship and how working together can help them win the contest at the end of the movie. One of my all time favorite films, they scenes and setting and plot for me are great! Very interesting with jokes throughout.
